Substitute Bus Driver

The McDuffie County School System is currently accepting applications for SUBSTITUTE BUS DRIVERS to transport students and other authorized persons on, “to and from,” regular school routes, and/or special education, vocational, or extracurricular trips as authorized by the local school board of education.

REPORTS TO: Director of Transportation

OTHER PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS:

Should be able to operate school bus safely under all types of weather conditions including, but not limited to sun, fog, rain, sleet, hail, snow and ice.

Should be able to perform pre-trip and post-trip inspection of vehicle.

Should be able to conduct emergency evacuation drills as required.

Should be able to maintain the orderly conduct of student passengers.

Application Procedure:

Applications may be completed at the McDuffie County Board of Education, 716 North Lee Street, Thomson, GA 30824 between the hours of 8:00 am and 5:00 pm Monday through Friday. Applications are also located on the McDuffie County Schools website.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

High school diploma or GED

Must pass DOT required physical examination

Valid, state-issued commercial driver’s license (CDL) with S and P endorsements

Driving record must be free of violations that would prohibit the applicant from operating a school district vehicle. Eligibility to drive is dependent upon driving record, and a good driving record must be continuously maintained while employed by McDuffie County School System.
