Ability to perform all duties assigned within the school nutrition program.
Knows basic food preparation and sanitation principles.

REPORTS TO: School Nutrition Program (SNP) Manager


POSITION: Classified

WORK SCHEDULE: 186 days. Hourly wage in accordance to established position pay scale schedule.

1. Speaking-Talking to others to convey information effectively.

1. Reports for work neat and clean per established standard operating procedures.
2. Adheres to work schedule as prepared by the SNP Manager and/or Assistant SNP Manager.
3. Prepares food by following standardized recipes and cycle menus.
4. Operates and helps maintain daily all equipment in the kitchen under the direction of the SNP and/or Assistant Manager.
5. Follows sanitary rules for food handling and/or service, keeps work area clean and sanitary and does other cleaning duties as assigned.
6. Follows safety rules and regulations per standard operating procedures.
7. Relates effectively to children, adults, fellow employees, and patrons.
8. Serves food using portion control and sanitary techniques.
9. Participates in training sponsored by the County for School Community & Nutrition Service personnel.
10. Participates in other professional growth opportunities related to the SNP locally and/or statewide per request of the SNP manager and/or Assistant Manager.
11. Performs any other duties that may be assigned by the School Community & Nutrition SNP and/or Assistant Manager.
12. Presents a positive image of the school system to the public and conveys the system’s genuine concern with the education, growth, and development of the child as it relates to school nutrition.
13. Works cooperatively with colleagues.
14. Utilizes appropriate administrative channels
15. Maintains accurate records and files reports on a timely basis.
16. Maintains appropriate attendance.
17. Maintains required work schedules.
18. Participates in professional development activities.
19. Follows McDuffie County Policies & Procedures.
20. Exhibits ability to control emotions.
21. Performs other duties as assigned.

EVALUATION: The School Nutrition Manager will evaluate the performance of this position annually.

The usual and customary methods of performing the job’s functions require the following physical demands: lifting at least 40 pounds, carrying at least 40 pounds, pushing, and/or pulling, above head reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling; and significant fine finger dexterity, movement, free standing and unassisted walking. Generally the job requires 90% moving/walking/standing.
