MAINTENANCE

Primary Duty- Plumbing, Carpentry, Roof Repair, Door Locks, Etc.

JOB GOAL:

To complete tasks as assigned for the maintenance and efficient operation of school facilities

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
.
To operate school system vehicles and machinery in a safe manner
To keep maintenance facilities and vehicles clean and organized
To keep records as needed/required
To participate in professional development activities
To perform other general maintenance tasks
To perform other duties as assigned

SHARED RESPONSIBILITIES:

To inspect school facilities for safety and code concerns
To assist with the kitchen needs of the system
To assist with the marking of athletic fields of the system
To assist with the heating and air conditioning needs of the system
To assist with the painting needs of the system


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school diploma or GED
• Completion of a private, military or technical school maintenance apprenticeship program is preferred
• At least one year of experience performing maintenance work in a commercial, industrial, or facilities operations setting
• Valid, state-issued drivers license
• Good driving record which is free of violations which would prohibit the applicant from operating a school district vehicle. Eligibility of such driving privileges much be continuously maintained while employed for the McDuffie County School System

Requirements
~Must be able to perform physical activities, such as, but not limited to, lifting equipment (up to 80 lbs. unassisted), bending, climbing, (for long periods of time) standing and walking

~Must be able to safely use manual and power equipment

~Must be able to tolerate exposure to outdoor environmental elements
