This individual is responsible for teaching music education to the pupils in the school but not limited to choral ensemble techniques in theory and performance, beginning and intermediate keyboard theory and performance, and general music. The music teacher should assist the staff of the school in the improvement and appreciation of music instruction. This person should also help pupils to advance and grow in their enjoyment, appreciation, and performance of music through a variety of planned musical experiences which include, but are not limited to: singing, moving to music, playing of instruments and listening to and researching various genres of music.

REPORTS TO: Principal

SUPERVISES: Paraprofessionals, if assigned by principal

EVALUATION: Job performance will be evaluated annually in accordance with School Board Policy

SALARY: In accordance with the McDuffie County Board of Education salary schedule


 A Bachelors Degree or higher from an accredited institution

 A Valid Georgia Teaching Certificate – MUSIC (P-12)

 The Board of Education reserves the right to accept equivalent qualifications, as the Board may deem appropriate and acceptable.
