Description
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Assist with the implementation of the Early Intervening Services Program (EIS)
2. Provide training and assist Student Support Teams and IEP teams in conducting functional behavioral
assessment and developing behavior intervention plans
3. Assist Student Support Teams and IEP teams in developing appropriate behavior interventions and
strategies for students with behavioral difficulties
4. Observe and assess students referred for an evaluation because of behavior; develop behavior support
plan per student’s need; determine skill acquisition needs and behavioral extinction needs; secure approval
of behavior support plan from the school committee
5. Implement and assist staff with behavior management plans; collect and analyze the accuracy of the
behavior data to be included in the state annual report
6. Assist school-level Positive Behavior Support coaches with analyzing data
7. Participate as a member of the interdisciplinary team working with other professional staff, families and
advocates to develop, implement and modify the behavior support plan
8. Provide professional learning in behavior management; assist with crisis prevention/intervention training
(de-escalation/restraint training) for schools
9. Participate in and/or provide in-service training programs; read and apply research from professional
literature to enhance professional knowledge and skills in behavior management
10. Attend and participate in department meetings to obtain and provide information
11. Facilitate individual or group counseling to students to address underlying emotional issues contributing to
behavioral challenges.
12. Facilitate individual or group social skills instruction to address skill deficits contributing to behavioral
challenges
13. Performs other tasks consistent with goals and objectives that support the vision and mission of the
McDuffie County School System.
14. Performs other duties as assigned.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Heavy Work: Exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or 10 to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
Requirements
1. One of the following areas preferred Masters of Special Education with emphasis in the area of Emotional/Behavior Disorder, Masters of Psychology, Masters of Social Work
2. Valid Certified Certificate issued by Georgia Professional Standards Commission
