Re-Opening Update - September 25, 2020

PRESS RELEASE

September 25, 2020

The McDuffie County School System continues to actively monitor public health data as well as guidance from the Centers for Disease Control, the Georgia Department of Public Health and the Georgia Department of Education.

Based on the current public health data and the number of students returning to face-to-face instruction the McDuffie County School System will continue a blended model for all face-to-face studentsThe blended schedule will ensure the ability for proper social distancing and reduce the population in classrooms, in hallways, and in common areas.  The system plans to remain in the blended model for face-to-face students until October 30, 2020. At that time the system will determine if the blended model for face-to-face students will need to be extended until the conclusion of the first semester.

Students who opted for the face-to-face instructional model will attend school two days per week and will engage in virtual learning three days per week through October 30, 2020.  Students will be divided into two groups based on their last name. The chart below illustrates the schedule.
