Make Mathematics Count, GA!
The Georgia Department of Education and Georgia Public Broadcasting have partnered to "Make Mathematics Count, GA!" The special series supports parents with understanding the expectations of teaching and learning mathematics from kindergarten through high school. Videos and support guides featuring celebrities focus on building foundational numeracy, problem solving and conceptual understanding of grade level/course specific content. Parents can also learn about the mathematics content and strategies for helping learners develop a deep understanding of mathematical ideas and how they are used in everyday life. Lexile.com has made available several oral reading passages leveled by Lexile for oral readability, which describes how difficult a text may be to read aloud. You can share these passages with families for oral reading practice.
