Technology-Based Supplemental Learning Resources

The McDuffie County School System is providing these supplemental resources for continued practice to maintain skills while schools are not in session.  
 

Students have been assigned a Clever log-in for most applications, including Renaissance Learning, Lexia Core 5, iReady, USATestPrep, and Rosetta Stone. The Clever log-in allows students to use a single username and password to access all of these programs.  To sign in, go to https://clever.com/in/mcduffie.  Use your 6-digit school ID number (printed on your schedule) for your username and password. For Google Classroom, you may have to enter your student email account and password on the first attempt. Directions for using Clever are located below.

These resources provide key vocabulary terms, formulas, examples, and released test items with reading passages, writing prompts, answers, and explanations.  Hard copies of the Study Guides are available at the applicable schools for students without electronic access.

The Georgia Department of Education has established a practice site so students can see what the Georgia Milestones questions are like, learn to use the tools available, and become familiar with accommodations for students with special needs. Simply click the link below, select the EOG or EOC administration, and follow the prompts to log in.
 
Georgia Milestones Released Item Samplers (Grades 3-12)
 
ELA & Math Constructed Response Item Samplers
These resources include sample released English language arts and math test constructed-response items, along with rubrics and sample responses. These item types will require the student to type a response to the question. These items are two points each, and students will see multiple constructed response items on the Georgia Milestones English Language Arts and mathematics tests.
 
ELA 4-Point Narrative Extended Constructed Response Item Samplers
These resources include sample released English language arts narrative writing items, along with rubrics and sample responses. These item types will require the student to read a passage and then type a response to the question based on the passage.  He or she may have to rewrite the passage to change a section, write a new story based on the text, or tell the story from another character's point of view.  Scorers are looking for the student's use of plot, setting, dialogue, and characterization. Each student will have one narrative writing prompt in either Section 2 or Section 3 of the Georgia Milestones English Language Arts test.  This item comprises four of the 55 total points on the test.
 
ELA 7-Point Reading and Evidence-Based Extended Writing Task Item Samplers
These resources include sample released English language arts reading and evidence-based writing items (called the extended writing task), along with rubrics and sample responses. These item types will require the student to read two paired passages on the same topic and then type a response to the question based on both passages.  He or she will be asked to incorporate information/evidence from BOTH passages while writing an opinion/argumentative or informational/explanatory response.  Each student will have one reading and evidence-based extended writing prompt in Section 1 of the Georgia Milestones English Language Arts test. This item comprises seven of the 55 total points of the test.
